Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023

Canadian fans were treated to 56 all-Canadian matchups throughout the shortened 2020-21 campaign but one thing that was the same as usual was the sheer dominance of the game by Connor McDavid as he would claim the Art Ross and Hart Trophy’s as well as the Ted Lindsay Award. Registering 33 goals on the year, this particular puck was used by McDavid to score his 11th of the season and 173rd goal of his career. Adding to the appeal of the piece, the puck was used to score the 2nd goal of the 3 he would record on the night for a natural hat trick. Touching the mesh at 1:06 of the 2nd period, the marker would be unassisted and serve as the 4th Edmonton goal as they would thrash the Calgary Flames by a 7-1 final score on home ice. The “Official Game Puck” sports an Oilers logo on the obverse with the NHL shield featured on the opposite side but is covered by a label applied by the club listing all the particulars. Exhibiting light-to-moderate use, the puck shows surface wear and abrasions over the front along with a spot of stuck on residue between 8 and 9 o’clock. Some residue is also found on the side as well. Sporting a Oilers hologram on the label applied to the reverse, the slug comes housed in an Oilers case.
