Chicago’s 3rd round selection at the 1987 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Cam Russell would forge out a 10-year NHL career that saw him play 396 career games over that time, with all but 35 of them spent wearing a Blackhawks jersey. Up for grabs here, is this Chicago Blackhawks jersey worn by Russell during the 1995-96 NHL playoffs. Made by CCM, Maska and size “56” labeling is affixed to the inner collar while the logos of CCM and the NHL have been embroidered over the rear hem. Decorated over the front with the beautiful and iconic Indigenous head crest that features chain-stitched details, matching tomahawk alternate logo patches, also with chain-stitched embroidery, reside over each shoulder. The sleeves and verso have been accented with Russell’s number “8” in dual layer white-over-black tackle twill numerals while “Russell” has been spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer white twill letters. Sporting good game-wear, dark stick marks are seen over the lower front and both sleeves which also show light board burns. Additionally, a pair of team repairs are present over the left forearm and a small brown coloured stain is seen at the collar. The interior of the jersey shows pilling at the elbows and salting of the fight strap with a Sports Registry barcode above and “96 3” penned behind the embroidered NHL crest on the reverse hem, designating the jersey as a playoff set example.
