Named one of the NHL’s 100 greatest players in 2017 during the league’s centennial celebration, Grant Fuhr won five (5) Stanley Cups over the course of his 19-year National Hockey League career that saw him also the Vezina Trophy in 1988, two Canada Cup’s and be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. A trailblazer for black hockey players in the NHL, offered here is this pair of skates worn by Fuhr during the early-to-mid-1990s during his tenures with either the Buffalo Sabres, Los Angeles Kings or St. Louis Blues. All-white CCM Tacks models that he is seen as wearing in photos between 1992-93 and 1995-96, countless puck marks, nicks and abrasions are found over each cowling and boot with fraying present on the inside of the tongue and to the material on the heel of each skate as well. Presenting with the original insoles and laces, Fuhr’s number “31” is penned to the bottom of each skate in black marker that has faded over the years. With black tape wrapped around the toe of the right skate and white around the toe of the left, cracks are seen to each cowling with light rusting to the blades and rivets also being observed along with a green colored mark on the outside of the left skate. A fantastic pair of blades once donned by one of the greatest goalies to ever play, don’t let these slide by you!
