Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
In what may be a biased option, the 1953 Topps set remains the most beautiful set of cards ever produced and offered here is this copy of card #220 of Satchell Paige that has recently earned a GOOD 2 grade from PSA. Debuting in the Major Leagues at the age of 42, the oldest to ever do so, Paige would help the Cleveland Indians to the World Series in 1948, the first African American to win the title. Displaying toning to both sides along with rounded corners and wear to the edges, the card retains good colour and centering. One of the most important figures in the history of baseball as a whole, don’t let yourself strikeout on getting this card of the distinguished HOFer for your collection. The PSA holder remains in excellent condition with just the odd light scratch on either side.
