Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Joined by those of fellow Hall of Famers Glenn Hall and Norm Ullman as key rookies cards in Topps' 1957-58 issue is that of longtime Boston Bruin great Johnny Bucyk. After an early-career trade from Detroit to Boston, Bucyk kept going and going, to the tune of 556 career goals, his leadership qualities and fine play helping the Bruins to the club's first Stanley Cup championship in 29 years in 1969-70. "Chief" potted 31 regular season goals and added 11 playoff markers as Boston "went all the way". The offered Bucyk RC features appealing centering along with vivid colours and sharp corners that has earned the card a grade of NM 7 from PSA. Light dings to the corners on the left side are to note while the PSA holder shows only the lightest/faintest of scratches over both sides.
