Members of the International League for parts of seven decades, the Toronto Maple Leafs baseball club began life in the late-19th century, and served as darlings of the league throughout the mid-1950s, leading the circuit in attendance every year from 1952 to 1956. Winning the International League title in 1926, their first season at the brand-new Maple Leaf Stadium, the Maple Leafs would match up with the Louisville Colonels of the American Association in the 1926 Junior World Series, with the Leafs taking the nine game series in a sweep 5-0. Measuring approx. 29 ½” x 8”, the panoramic photo shows both participating clubs with identifiers underneath each club. Featuring future BBHOFer Carl Hubbell, HHOFer Lionel Conacher is pictured in the front row second from the right. Framed to full dimensions of 38 ¼” x 17” and housed in brown coloured frame with gold outlines that displays with some wear, the photo remains in admirable condition while exhibiting a large heavy crease near the edge of the right side, a crease at the middle and other assorted creases around the edges, a tear to the bottom left corner and three pinholes along with some small indentations.
