Associated with professional hockey for 65 of his 84 years on Earth, Francis “King” Clancey spent most of them in the organization of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Presented here is the original artwork by Andy Donato of the Toronto Sun used on the program cover for the first annual King Clancy Memorial Dinner that was held on March 17th, 1987. The piece measures out to approx. dimensions of 14” x 16” and is matted under a thick white matte while full frame dimensions measure out to approx. 20 1/4” x 24 3/8”. A portion of the matte has been cut away at the bottom of the piece where a King Clancy Memorial patch that was worn by the Leafs during the 1986-87 season is displayed. The art remains in great condition and Donato has signed underneath the work. Housed in a sleek black metal frame that exhibits light scuffing, the piece is accompanied by an original copy of the memorial dinner program the artwork was used on.
