Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Worn on January 2nd, 2018 during the warm-up against the Tampa Bay Lightning as an homage to Maple Leafs legend Johnny Bower, who had passed away just a week prior, this Maple Leafs jersey was worn by the current longest serving Maple Leaf, Morgan Rielly. The classic blue jersey presents beautifully having no obvious wear present on it having only been worn during the warm-up before the game. Rielly’s usual number “44” has been replaced with Bower’s number “1” on the sleeves and verso with “Bower” spelt out above on the affixed matching nameplate. An Adidas sized “56” model, the partially embroidered Leafs crest sits over the front with a Bower tribute patch present over the right breast. The fight strap on the interior has had Rielly’s “44” handwritten on it in blue marker with the defenseman having signed the black number with a blue ink signature that shows light bleeding. An MLSE hologram is affixed underneath and is accompanied by a matching LOA.
