Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
A rich hockey tradition going back to the late-19th century with the Winnipeg Victorias, the Peg is currently the NHL city with the longest Stanley Cup drought, last winning the prestigious trophy in 1902. With the Jets entering the WHA as an original member, the team is the winningest throughout the league's history. We offer a nice group of Jets items from the club's time in the rebel league. Included, we have a Bobby Hull team-issued photo, a Hull press release kit with typed pages in a WHA folder regarding Hull's acquirement, a 1971-72 schedule, an Oct 1972 exhibition program vs Flin Flon, eight programs include examples vs Soviets and Czechoslovakia (2), three large scrapbooks with newspaper clippings and program pages including one featuring signatures from Hull and Ted Green, proclamations from the city for Winnipeg Jets day in 1979, Salisbury House oversized placemat schedules (3), a 1978-79 Jets schedule poster, approx 36 issues of the newspaper "Jet Stream" and approx 10 local newspaper sections featuring Jets stories or covers. Most of the items have light wear, with some aging to the newsprint items. Any Winnipeg fan will love perusing this grouping!
