A lot sure to entice Rangers fans from far and wide, offered here is this collection of memorabilia pertaining to the famous Blueshirts that includes a pair of programs from the clubs early years including one from the 1927-28 season, their second season of play and first Stanley Cup crown, and 1932-33, a year that saw them hoist Lord Stanley’s mug for the second time in franchise history. The first program, from a Rangers vs Bruins matchup from February 19th, 1928. Picturing generic players on the cover in the uniforms of the Rangers and New York Americans along with the original purchase price of .15 cents, the booklet looks to be complete with the line-up card displaying names like Chabot, Boucher, Shore and Cleghorn intact but having come away from the bottom staple. Won by the Bruins 2-0, the program boasts team photos of both the Rangers and Americans with full bios and write ups for hockey of all levels found on the interior. The second program, once again showing generic players for the Rangers and Americans on the front cover along with the venue, season and purchase price of .15 cents, is void of its line-up sheet on the inside. Presenting as complete otherwise, the interior shows beautiful advertisements for brands such as Lucky Strike Cigarettes and Coca-Cola with full bios on the Rangers and details about all levels of hockey also listed. Both surviving in admirable condition, the 1927-28 program is in excellent shape considering the age with just light wear to the front and back covers through some creases, small rips and surface wear with rusting to the staples present. The 1932-33 program displays tears and rips to the covers along with creasing, staining, foxing and wear to the spine along with some soiling to the first couple pages. The interior pages show toning with some having small rips.
Other memorabilia pertaining to MSG is also included, with a booklet containing information about the venue from when it first opened being featured as well as a press release titled “New Madison Square Garden Sets Sights For 1967 Debut” stating how the arena was aiming to be open starting in the fall of that year. Delays ended up pushing the opening back to February of the next year. Both items remain in good condition while showing expected handling wear and some toning. Also included is two “Share The Pride” Rangers puzzles from 1988 that remain in their factory shrink wrap and present without issue.
