With the image of him finally hoisting the Stanley Cup in 2001 burned into the minds of hockey fans all over the world, Ray Bourque would also win five (5) Norris Trophy’s as the NHL’s best defenceman and still holds the record for most points scored by a blueliner. Offered here, is this helmet worn by the 2004 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee during the early-1990s as a member of the Boston Bruins. A CCM model that is black in colour, white CCM logos appear over the front and both sides while decals of Ray’s number “77” appear on the reverse. With all the padding present and accounted for on the interior, some light-to-moderate soiling is present while the strapping harness and ear clips are also still found, showcasing rusting to the metal snap. Void of a visor on the front with Bourque usually wearing one, evidence of one having once been in place is seen at the mounting holes while the shell shows various marks, scuffs and abrasions that are worth pointing out for accuracy.
