Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024

Their tenth appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals and first since losing to Montreal in 1979, the New York Rangers would take on a strong Vancouver club in the 1994 edition of the Stanley Cup Finals, with this the first and only playoff series between the teams. Going the full seven (7) games before the Rangers would claim the series on home ice to give the Blueshirts their fourth (4th) Stanley Cup in franchise history, the victory also ended their then a record drought of 54-years without a Cup. Offered here, we present this limited-edition multi-signed framed photo that shows the moment the final whistle went and the Rangers were crowned champion. A beautiful full colour image that was taken by Jeff Markowitz and framed to full dimensions of roughly 41 1/2 x 30", the bottom of the piece has been signed by Mark Messier, Mike Richter and Brian Leetch with large blue marker ink signatures that display well despite having faded over time. Additionally, Messier has additional an inscription reading "94 Cup" to his autograph while Leetch has penned one reading "94 MVP" with both in matching ink and condition as the signatures they are accompanying. Hand serial numbered "122/1994" in faded blue marker ink at the bottom right hand corner, the photo is displayed under red, white and blue coloured mattes while everything is housed in a simple black frame that shows some wear to the corners and edges that is worth mentioning for accuracy as well as some tears to the paper backing on the reverse. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany the piece.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
