A pair of classic O-Pee-Chee offerings are up for grabs here in the form of a near complete 1984-85 set and a 1987-88 set with both chalked full of the rookie/HOFer/star cards of the era. Missing three cards total (#21, #306, #329) in the 396-card checklist, the 1984-85 set still features the rookie cards of #129 Pat LaFontaine, #185 Doug Gimour, #259 Chris Chelios and #327 Cam Neely in the EX-MT/NM condition range with the set’s top first year offering, card #67 Steve Yzerman (60-40 centering) a tad worse off and in the scope of EX-MT due to a light corner ding at the top left. Star cards including examples of #208 and #243 of Wayne Gretzky as well as #239 Paul Coffey are also in the range of EX-MT/NM with #1 Ray Bourque and #254 Mark Messier closer to the vicinity of EX-MT. All three checklists are unmarked and nine (9) other Wayne Gretzky offerings are present, consistently in the same uniform EX-MT/NM condition as the rest of the set.
The 1987-88 assembly includes the rookie cards of #42 Luc Robitaille and #123 Adam Oates, the keys of the 44 examples present in the checklist both in the scope of EX-MT/NM with the rest of the cards pretty much in mirrored condition throughout with a few exceptions. Featuring star cards of #15 Mario Lemieux, #53 Wayne Gretzky, #87 Ray Bourque, #99 Paul Coffey and #112 Mark Messier all in the same EX-MT/NM condition range, card #163 of Patrick Roy is closer to that of EX-MT. both checklists are once again unmarked with cards #7 and #9 showing some damage worth noting in an otherwise high-grade ensemble that has been put together.
