Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022

With his record of 11 Stanley Cup championships as a player never to be breached, Henri Richard served as Habs captain beginning in 1971 until his retirement in 1975, with his 1,256 games the most for any Canadien player in history. We have a Victoriaville Pro used by the superstar during the late-1960s/early-1970s. “16 H. Richard” is stamped to the shaft along with stamps from Mailhot & Freres, with the Pocket Rocket’s original black tape jobs on the handle and blade (a few loose strands appear along the frontside blade). Both striping accents are gone, with the outlines visible. Light to moderate game-use is shown including marks to the lower shaft and over the front side heel, with a tiny bit of chipping along an edge on the upper shaft. Henri placed a dark marker signature to the upper shaft, and it displays beautifully. Richard scored Cup winners in 1966 and again in 1971, when he tallied the tying and winning goals in Game 7 in Chicago.
