A trio of early-1980s O-Pee-Chee hockey sets, each missing a single card for completion, is what awaits the winning bidder here. The 1981-82 set has the rookie cards of HOFers 107-Kurri, 120-Moog and 161-Ciccarelli all having EX-MT to NM attributes, 269-Stastny in the EX scope (off-centered/wax stain) with 111-Coffey in a lower grade because of a one inch crease in its center area. Gretzky offerings includes cards #106, #125, #126 and #383 all having EX-MT to NM characteristics with cards #384 and #392 in lesser condition and in the EX to EX-MT scope. Lastly the 1-Bourque is EX or so with a top border rough edge and the 63-Savard is off-centered with a top border rough edge as well. Missing for completion is card #355 with the remainder of the set generally reflecting the better-condition cards above.
The better rookie cards included in the '82-83 issue includes those of 105-Fuhr, 123-Francis, 307-Mullen and 380-Hawerchuk (off-centered) all having EX-MT to NM attributes same for Gretzky's cards #99, #106 and #235 with card #1 having a small elastic mark on the left border and in the EX vicinity. Oilers teammates cards of 101-Coffey and 117-Messier are also in the EX-MT to NM scope while the card of 7-Bourque has a small crease on it upper right corner area and VG-EX. The checklists are unmarked and there is some typical OPC off-centering on some cards with the set generally in the EX-MT to NM range with card #355 missing for completion.
The 1983-84 rookie class includes first cardboard appearances of 65-Housley (top edge rough cut), 160-Nicholls (off-centered), 185-Carbonneau, 193-Naslund, 268 Lindbergh (off-centered) and 376-Stevens all being in the EX-MT to NM range with similar condition Gretzky cards #22, #23 Gretzky/Messier, #29, #203 (wax stain), #204 and #212 also included. Cards 27-Fuhr, 39-Messier and 385-Hawerchuk also are in the EX-MT to NM vicinity. The three checklists are unmarked and the set is in a nice consistent EX-MT to NM range overall. Missing for completion is card #85.
