One of the toughest enforcers of the modern era of professional hockey, Brian McGrattan racked up an astounding 1,988 penalty minutes across 653 games in the NHL and AHL. Hailing from his 2009-10 season with the Calgary Flames is this game-issued jersey made up for use by McGrattan. A Reebok Edge 1.0 specimen, the interior of the collar features size “58+” flag tagging with the front of the jersey stylized with the Flames crest as well as the NHL shield at the neckline and the teams 30th anniversary patch over the right breast. Featuring McGrattan’s number “10” on the sleeves and verso in three layer stacked tackle twill, his name is affixed in the same style across an affixed matching nameplate while the shoulders carry the flag patches for the Province of Alberta and Canada respectively. The interior of the jersey is where the most unique and eyebrow raising element of the jersey is as it contains not one but two fight straps, one in its usual place and another on the front of the jersey custom done by the Flames equipment staff. The one fight strap features the stamp “Game issued not worn”. A MeiGray tag is also present at the hem with serial number “G01768” and according to their population report, the jersey is a” White Set 1 GI” example. It should be noted that while unworn the jersey does have a couple of small storage spots found on it.
