Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
It’s never easy coming into a top hockey market that’s starved for success and having the weight of it all put on your shoulders but Phil Kessel took everything in stride during his tenure with the Toronto Maple Leafs that lasted from 2009-2015 and saw the budding sniper put up 394 points in 446 games with the blue and white. Presented here is this Easton S19 that Kessel wielded during his tenure with the Leafs. Featuring Kessel’s patented tape style from top to bottom with the signature candy cane shaft, the factory graphics of “Kessel” and “81” are found on the shaft albeit partially covered by tape. With no cracks or breaks and displaying game wear that would be described as light, the stick displays extremely well with the exhibited wear coming in the form of puck marks on the blade and a couple nicks on the “S19” logo found on the shaft. The backside of the shaft still has factory serial number and warranty stickers affixed to it. The stick is part of a large collection of sticks featured in this auction with our consignor informing us that he obtained most of them from various NHL All-Star Games over the years with four such examples from the collection having been photo-matched to All-Star Games.
