Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Diminutive in stature but hugely collectible, we have a small miniature panoramic team photo of the 1930-31 Montreal Canadiens, with this image captured by legendary photographer Rice Studios. The Canadiens won their second-consecutive Stanley Cup championship in 1930-31, with this the first back-to-back titles for the Habs. At approx 2 ¼” x 9 ½”, the glossy black and white image captures the full historic line-up including Howie Morenz, Aurel Joliat and Georges Hainsworth, with the noteworthy club finishing first in the Canadian Division before defeating the Chicago Black Hawks in the final. The Stratford Streak would win the scoring title along with MVP honours, with Montreal only losing 10 games all season. Matted and framed to 6” x 13”, the photo appears in beautiful condition, with no issues for the frame.
