Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

Some material from the 1980s is for you to consider here, with O-Pee-Chee cards stored in ancient-looking 9-pocket pages dating back to an ’82-83 set of 396, highlighted by a well-centered (NM) Grant Fuhr rookie card. With not-perfect centering but otherwise NM are Ron Francis and Dale Hawerchuk RCs, with 106-Wayne Gretzky a tad behind at EX-MT. Expect similar examples among the remainder; we do not spot any glaring condition exceptions, although pages as you likely know can sometimes hide minor flaws, with light toning observed on the upper backs of the cards stored in the top three pockets of the pages to be aware. More than half of an ’83-84 set curiously begins at card #162 and runs through to the end (#396), with Pelle Lindbergh (EX+) and Scott Stevens (EX-MT) rookies present, along with those of Carbonneau (NM), Naslund and Bellows. Again, toning on the backs of some comes into play. Nothing has gone missing from an ’84-85 (396-card) assembly, led by a NM Steve Yzerman RC, with a duplicate Yzerman lesser (EX) but appreciated. A rough edge (Gilmour), corner ding (Chelios) and corner/edge touches (Neely) deny those rookies NM recognition, with a NM Pat Lafontaine RC and a duplicate at EX+ also noteworthy. The remainder are another grab bag; you’ll have the option of flipping through the pages on your trip back in time or pulling the cards out for close inspection. Oh, we almost forgot, two different Chico Resch cards from ’82-83 include bold back marker autographs – neat bonuses.
