Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023

Scoring 54 more goals then they allowed, the Montreal Canadiens finished second behind Detroit in 1953-54, and lost to Gordie Howe, Terry Sawchuk and the powerful Red Wings in the Stanley Cup finals. Hailing from Tom Johnson's personal collection, we have a team-signed period framed photo of the 1953-54 squad, which includes rookie season signatures from Jacques Plante and Jean Beliveau. At approx 16" x 19" and framed to slightly larger dimensions, the full team is captured in a black and white image, with 19 signing beneath in black ink, including Johnson, along with Plante, Beliveau, Bouchard, Curry, Moore, Geoffrion, Harvey, Olmstead, St Laurent, MacPherson, Mosdell, Mazur, Selke, Irvin, the Rocket and a couple others. That's 11 deceased HOFers! "Montreal Canadiens" has also been handwritten along the top border. The photo does not show any condition issues, with the signatures displaying beautifully, remaining nice and bold. An LOA from the Johnson family will accompany this utterly desirable photo.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping.
