Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2023
A collection that presents a myriad of pack busting (and old bubble gum chewing) opportunities that is sure to entice both dealers and collectors alike, offered here is this collection of 1980s and 1990s Topps, Fleer, O-Pee-Chee and other brands MLB baseball wax, cello and rack packs consisting of 205 total examples by our count. Hailing from the collection of a consignor that had dozens upon dozens of wax boxes that were all authenticated by the unopened wax experts at BBCE, these are loose packs that came with his collection and although they do not appear to have been tampered with, they are offered as is. In an overall excellent collection throughout with no major rips, tears or other flaws, it appears as though only one pack included with the collection has become opened up over the years, a cello pack example from 1988 Topps Big, while two (2) packs of 1984 O-Pee-Chee have damage at the bottom left corners. Paced in terms of importance by Topps wax packs from 1982 (x2), 1984 (x2), 1986 (x3), 1987 (x7), 1988 (x2) and 1989 (x2) while Topps cello packs include examples from 1985 (x4), 1986 (x18), 1988 (x4), 1989 (x4) and 1990 (x5). Also including wax packs from O-Pee-Chee (1982, 1983 and 1984), Donruss (1982, 1983 and 1988), Fleer (1982, 1985, 1986 and 1990). Also including numerous rack packs from various brands, just some years and releases represented include those of 1989 Topps (x14) and 1990 Topps (x6) while other brands and releases including Fleer, Bowman, Sportflics, Upper Deck, Bowman, Topps Big, Leaf and more from the era of the late-1980s and early-1990s. An excellent grouping of unopened wax, cello and foil sure to produce numerous diamond stars and rookies of the era!
