First donned famously during an early match in 1959 by Jacques Plante, the goaltender’s mask has gone through numerous changes since inception, with Gerry Cheevers one of the first to sport a painted example. This lot offers a collection of Upper Deck mini masks in their original boxes from the early-2000s totaling 11, with 4 examples that are signed along with a 12th 1997 EA Sports/Pinnacle mask. Included, we have masks from 2001-02 for Roy (Colorado), Brodeur, Belfour (Dallas) and Roy (Montreal), along with masks from 2002-03 for Theodore, Belfour (Toronto) and Joseph, with the signed examples to include Brodeur, Belfour (Toronto), Theodore and Khabibulan. Each signature has been placed on the right side of each mask in a designated area, with the signatures presenting well, and light overall wear to the masks and boxes. The 12th mask is a Roy Colorado example in the original box.
