Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Representing the province of Quebec as well as our great nation, this lot contains a pair of vintage goal masks from the 1970s highlighted by an especially desirable Fibrosport model produced by Jacques Plante’s company that sports a painted fleur-de-lys emblem. The mask is accompanied by a second example, a youth mask produced for street hockey that proudly displays the mighty maple leaf. At 12” from the top of the forehead to the tip of the chin, the Fibrosport mask includes strapping (not original) along with a large amount of Styrofoam padding behind the forehead, with two thin pads over the inner chin section. The fleur-de-lys emblem is in solid Quebec blue, with surface loss in a number of areas along with moderate to heavier general wear. The second mask is plastic and 10” from top to bottom, with the original strapping and padding intact, with the red maple leaf accompanied by red vertical bands at each side.
