Responsible for many firsts for netminders throughout his HOF career, Patrick Roy is the first and currently only goaltender to win the Conn Smythe Trophy three times, with the superstar also the first to play in over 1,000 games and register 500 wins. The 2001-02 NHL season also witnessed St Patrick become the first goaltender in history to secure 200 wins… with two different clubs! The feat was accomplished on Nov 14, 2001, while Roy was wearing the offered photo-matched and signed Colorado Avalanche jersey. A “Goalie Style” label and size “58” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with KOHO and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Featuring “Colorado” placed diagonally across the chest in individual tri-colour tackle twill letters, Roy’s famous “33” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with team crests over each shoulder. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
Exhibiting light game-use with a few dark marks visible over the front and sleeves, there is also a bit of red paint transfer near the right elbow. Roy has signed the first reverse “3” in black marker, with no issues for the signature. Getty Image #611148 (November 14th 2001, 200th Colorado win) has been matched to the blue thread clearly showing in the lower left corner of the "L" in "Colorado", while Getty Image #611144, also from Nov 14, 2001, has been matched to the loose blue thread in the lower interior corner of the triangle in the "A" in "Colorado". A third image from Nov 14th has also been used, with Getty Image #535912 matched to the black mark showing in the white band on the lower right sleeve. Lastly, Getty Image #81395110 (Nov 18, 2001) has been matched to the first "3" on the right sleeve, specifically to the small white thread in the top left corner as well as the extra material visible at the bottom of the white left edge. The tie pattern on the collar lace also appears to match closely.
