Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
The 3rd overall selection at the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Gary Nylund enjoyed parts of eleven NHL seasons with three different clubs including Toronto and Chicago, serving as a firefighter in Delta, British Columbia, after his retirement from hockey. Nylund is also noteworthy as the first NHL player to change teams via free agency. This Black Hawks jersey was worn by Nylund in 1986-87, his first season in The Windy City. A Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the collar along with embroidered Gunzos and CCM crests on the reverse hem, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 50. Styled with the famous multi-coloured Indian head team crest with chain-stitched detailing, “22” appears over the sleeves and verso in white-over-black tackle twill, with matching chain-stitched tomahawk crests over each shoulder. An LOA will accompany.
Exhibiting nice game-use with wear and material pulls over each sleeve, there is also some minor fraying to the threading affixing the reverse numbers.
