Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A member of the Peterborough Petes for three seasons beginning in 1988-89, netminder John Tanner made his NHL debut with the Quebec Nordiques in 1989-90, and would see action in a total of 21 games spread over a trio of seasons with the club. This Nordiques jersey was worn by the Cambridge native in 1991-92, where he appeared in 14 contests. A Maska Ultrafil label and size “56” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with an attractive Nordiques team crest fully administered in tackle twill, the white V-neck has been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with blue single twill fleur-de-lys gracing the lower band and shoulders. Sewn to the right breast is the NHL’s 75 anniversary patch worn league-wide that season. We should also note evidence of a former shorter nameplate. Just light game-use is exhibited on the garment, with a bit of red paint transfer over each elbow section.
