Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Forever immortalized by the Tragically Hip, Bill Barilko serves as one of hockey’s most tragic figures, losing his young life in a plane crash while on a fishing trip shortly after winning the 1951 Stanley Cup with Toronto. Barilko would score the winning goal that captured the title for the blue and white. This framed photo display features the famous goal, and it has been signed by six of the participants, including deceased HOFers Tom Johnson, Butch Bouchard and Harry Watson, along with Howie Meeker, Gerry McNeil and Cal Gardner. At 8” x 10”, the black and white photo depicts Barilko’s marker, with each signing near their respective image in matching blue ink. Double-matted and framed to approx 15” x 18 ½”, a small plaque listing the players has been inserted beneath along with a Canadiens pin. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
