Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A decrease in production from the previous season, O-Pee-Chee’s 1985-86 hockey issue is complete at 264 cards, with packs containing 7 cards along with a bonus sticker card. This was also the first season the company printed cards on the bottom of each retail box. A number of players feature prominently in the set, highlighted by the desirable rookie card of Mario Lemieux. Offered in its purest form, we have a framed uncut 132-card sheet that includes Lemieux. At approx 28” x 42”, 12 rows of 11 cards-per-row make up the sheet, with Lemieux the fourth card in the third row (from left to right, top to bottom), with the sheet double-matted and framed to approx 34 ½” x 49”. There is some creasing to the sheet in numerous spots, with the Lemieux card showing what appears to be a few small surface scrapes along the base (the card below has a blemish along the top).
