A landmark season for Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers, the 1981-82 campaign would see the club finish atop the Campbell Conference losing only 17 contests, with The Great One securing his career-best 212 points which included 92 goals. This important historical collection of 35mm colour and b&w Edmonton Oilers negatives from the 1981-82 NHL season totals approx 1,161, with roughly 371 that feature Wayne Gretzky. The breakdown includes approx 477 colour negatives and 684 b&w negatives, with 94 colour negatives of Gretzky and 277 b&w negatives of the superstar. Highlights in the collection include 141 negatives from Wayne’s 50 goal of the season (done in 39 game) on Dec 30 with approx 75 of Gretz, 30 negatives from Mark Messier’s 50th goal of the season, 4 negatives from the first round of the 1981-82 Stanley Cup playoffs vs Los Angeles, 5 negatives of Gretzky receiving hardware, a single slide of Peter Pocklington in the hospital and more.
The majority of the negatives remain in excellent condition with no issues, with the contents for each particular game remaining in its own original labeled envelope.
