Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Making his final curtain call to the dismay of endless hockey fans the world over, Wayne Gretzky’s last NHL game took place on April 18, 1999, in front of a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden. The visiting Pittsburgh Penguins would be the foe, with Wayne earning the final point of his iconic career in the contest. This framed display includes a highly desirable ticket stub from the historic event along with a final season MSG program with Gretzky cover. At approx 2 ¼” x 6”, the ticket stub lists the “Sunday, Apr 18 1999” date, along with the original purchase price of $22.50. The program is 8 ½” x 11” and depicts the superstar in game-action, with a small plaque and Rangers pin inserted over the bottom and top right respectively. Each item has been double-matted and framed to full dimensions of approx 18 ½” x 20 ½”. We should also note a large crease to the ticket stub and light wear to the frame.
