Advancing to the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs for 25-consecutive seasons from 1990-91 to 2015-16, the Detroit Red Wings are one of the most successful modern clubs, with four Stanley Cup championships won in Motor City since 1997. This lot contains a neat collection of desirable Red Wings playoff programs totaling approx 29 and ranging from 1977-78 to 2003-04 (5 are accompanied by ticket stubs), with a few extra publications thrown-in including a 2008-09 home opener program and 2014 Winter Classic program. Highlights include a Game 1 example from the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals vs New Jersey, and 6 Conference Finals programs (1987, 1988, 1996, 1997 w/stub, 1998 w/2 stubs and 2002) including the series-winning Game 6 program from the 1997-98 Western Conference Finals vs Dallas that allowed the Red Wings to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. The remaining programs all hail from the first and second playoff rounds. The majority have the added line-ups, with moderate to heavier handling, age and storage wear overall to the collection. As an added bonus, a mounted display is included that feature’s team photos of the 1997 and 1998 Stanley Cup champion Red Wings. Containing two 11” x 14” photos mounted beneath plexiglass on a finished beveled wooden plaque with attractive marbling, a small metal plate has been placed between the images, with “97 Back to Back Stanley Cup Champs 98”, and “Detroit Red Wings” engraved.
