Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A two-time Lady Byng winner as one of the NHL’s most gentlemanly players, Jean Ratelle would score just under 500 goals throughout his Hall of Fame career, with his first hat trick occurring in 1967-68, in a Jan 7, 1968 contest vs the Toronto Maple Leafs, won by Ratelle and the Boston Bruins, 6-2. We have a puck from that very game, and it originates from Mr Ratelle’s personal collection. A desirable Art Ross “Original Six” Rangers’ puck produced from 1958 to 1962, both of the rubberized labels remain intact, with “1st Hatrick” and “Jan 7/68” handwritten in ballpoint on either side of the Rangers logo. The puck itself exhibits light surface wear, and we should note locating Original Six goal pucks used by prominent Hall of Fame members is nearly impossible.
