Sealing his fate with the Montreal Canadiens after allowing nine goals before being removed from the infamous contest, Patrick Roy donned the sacred flannel of the Montreal Canadiens for the final time on Dec 2, 1995, an embarrassing 11-1 loss at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings. Vowing to team president Ronald Corey that his days with the Habs were finished, Roy was dealt to the Colorado Avalanche along with Mike Keane in exchange for Jocelyn Thibault, Andrei Kovalenko, and Martin Rucinsky. This desirable signed Colorado Avalanche jersey was donned by St Patrick in 1999-2000, and it hails from the personal collection of Ray Bourque. Pro Player labeling is affixed to the collar with a G58 size tag, with Pro Player and NHL crests to the reverse hem. Styled with the attractive Avs team crest in use since inception, the solid burgundy V-neck has been styled with textured triple-twill numbers, along with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. Roy has signed the first reverse "3" in black marker. The NHL 2000 crest resides over the right breast. The only season that Pro Player made jerseys for the Avalanche, the team was having inventory and fit issues all year. The tagging in the collar had a variety of different marks or none at all (like this jersey). Due to the light wear present, it is believed that the jersey would have been worn in the playoffs briefly by Roy. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany.
