Another in the long line of offers made by cereal companies to keep the kiddies coming back for more, we have a great grouping of items from the Chex Cereal promotion that ran from 1962-65. Included, we have a desirable 1964-65 Wheat Chex complete box featuring Jean Beliveau with intact Series #2 Marcel Pronovost card, along with a partial 1962-63 Rice Chex box (no top or bottom flaps) with Imlach booklet ad + booklet, a 1963-64 Chex Cereal series #1 hockey photos 11” x 14 ½” newspaper ad signed by Jean Beliveau and Frank Mahovlich, Series #1 hockey photos of Bob Baun and Jean Beliveau and 2 1963-65 Chex Cereal hockey photos frames. There is also a Toe Blake booklet, Gordie Howe hockey photo and Toe Blake cereal box cut-out, all from the 2nd Series.
The rare Beliveau Chex box from 1964-65 is completely intact and shrink-wrapped, with moderate wear and toning along with a few small pinholes. The Rice Chex box that advertises Imlach’s hockey booklet is folded with no top or bottom flaps, with some staining and heavy edge wear. Both of the hockey tip booklets show just light wear as does the the Imlach newsprint advertisement, with the large newsprint ad signed by Beliveau and Mahovlich exhibiting heavy toning along with edge tears and folds along the top border. The Baun, Beliveau and Howe hand-cut hockey photos all show surface wear with some creasing to the Beliveau example, with the Baun featuring exceptionally large borders. Lastly, the 2 frames each remain in very good condition.
