A thorn in the skates of the Canadians during the ’72 Summit Series, Vladislav Tretiak was also responsible for shutting down the powerful Habs on New Year’s Eve in 1975 in what is considered by many to be the greatest game ever played. This stick was used by the Hall of Fame goaltender in the 1976 Canada Cup, according to the accompanying COA. A faint “Tretjak” stamp is visible on the upper shaft of the KOHO Pro, with the stick retaining its original tape on the blade and knob. Vladislav has added a large and flowing signature to the front-side of the paddle just above the heel in black marker, and it displays wonderfully.
Game-wear on the important stick includes a few large marks and abrasions to the lower paddle, along with wear to the bottom of the blade, especially around the heel section.
