To be worn on special occasions, this pin was issued in the late-1980s by the International Olympic Committee to honor all living Olympians, commemorating their participation at the Olympic Games. Made of gold-plated alloy and measuring 1 x 1.75cm (approx. 0.5 x 0.75 inches), the pin depicts an Olympic torch with “1948” and the five Olympic rings. Numbered “97621” on the reverse, the pin comes attached to its original card backing (also numbered 97621) with small Bertoni case. In gorgeous condition with no issues to note, the pin will be accompanied by an LOA from the Leichnitz family.
All of the pins were manufactured under license by Bertoni of Milan Italy, with specially designed white plastic wallets measuring 6.75cm x 6.75cm (2.5 x 2.5 inches) with the five Olympic rings stamped in gold on the front.
