Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Montreal’s hockey rich history includes the legendary Junior Royals who would capture the Memorial Cup at the end of the 1948-49 campaign, led by future HOFer Dickie Moore who was 18 years old at the time. Primed to be royally displayed is this original team photo of the ’48-49 squad, taken by the famous Rice Studios, and measuring a terrific 10 ½” x 19 ½” inside a 14 ½” x 22 ½” black wooden frame. The team lineup sits below the photo, manager Frank Selke’s picture is superimposed on the top right, and young crew-cutted Moore is smiling from the bottom row. The photo is in splendid condition, while the old frame has various nicks but remains nice with no need to change it.
