Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
From his last OHL season with Oshawa where he only saw action in 13 games, we have a pair of game-worn and photo-matched pant shells from Eric Lindros, along with a pair of game-issued padding shorts. Cooper models in solid red, the shells retain all of their attachment buttons with laundry instruction tagging affixed to the interior. With stick marks, board burns and two team repairs on the hip section, the team-customized shells show very nice use. The accompanying padding shorts worn under the shells are a back-up pair ordered specifically for Eric, but were never worn and were retained by the team. They have their original lacing and straps intact, and remain in beautiful condition.
As mentioned, the shells have been photo-matched. A 1991-92 OHL yearbook that will be included features a cover photo of Eric, with the black wear pattern pictured just above the right knee matching the shells. A digital image also provides another match, as the photo pictures a black stick mark near the Cooperall logo that perfectly matches the shells as well. There is even a black stick mark near the logo in the shape of the padding beneath the shells, as high pressure contact has imprinted the material’s pattern onto the shells.
