Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
A pair not often seen, we have jersey’s from the Maine Mariners and Kalamazoo Wings that were issued-to, and originally obtained from Dave “Sudsy” Settlemyre. The Maine jersey has Sandow tagging affixed to the collar along with handwritten “52 Goalie”, while an additional rubberized Sandow SK logo sits on the lower back hem. In Philadelphia Flyers colours, the attractive circa 1982-83 jersey also features tackle twill numbers and name-on-nameplate. The Wings jersey has Maska Ultrafil tagging on the collar, with an embroidered CCM patch on the bottom hem. Featuring attractive dual-colour tackle twill numbers and name-on-nameplate, the garment also exhibits the PHPA 25th anniversary patch over the right shoulder.
A long time trainer and emergency player/goaltender dating from the late-1960's, Settlemyre worked for the Greensboro Generals, Roanoke Valley Rebels, Philadelphia Firebirds, Maine Mariners, Philadelphia Flyers, Hershey Bears, Kalamazoo Wings, Minnesota & Dallas Stars and the Florida Panthers. Both jersey’s show no signs of use and remain in beautiful condition, with just some light staining on the right sleeve of the Mariners example.
