From a diverse group of players, we have 5 sticks total up for your consideration. Offered are game-issued examples for Borje Salming, Dale Hawerchuk and Gilbert Perreault, along with game-used examples from Gilles Meloche and Mike Palmateer. 1) Borje Salming game-issued stick. A Jofa Pentaglas model, the stick has “Salming” on the upper shaft along with an intact striping sticker. A date stamp on the underside reads “27 Nov. 1979”, with the stick remaining in very good condition with some wear to the shaft. 2) Gilbert Perreault game-issued stick. A Canadien Fibreglass model, the stick has “Perreault” on the upper shaft, along with a partially covered date stamp of “Dec 1979”. There’s tape on the handle/knob, with additional tape along the middle section of the shaft to repair a large crack. 3) Dale Hawerchuk game-issued stick. A Sher-Wood model, “Hawerchuk” appears stamped on the upper shaft along with “10”. With an intact striping sticker, the stick remains in excellent condition with some light cracking around the heel section. 4) Gilles Meloche game-used stick. “Meloche G.” and “27” appears on the upper shaft of this Sher-Wood stick, which retains its original tape jobs on the knob and blade. Good use is apparent with a number of puck marks on the front-side of the blade, along with wear/cracking to the bottom of the blade. There are also a few spots of red goal-post paint transfer along the blade. This stick hails from the late-1970s to early-1980s while Gilles was with Minnesota. 5) Mike Palmateer game-used stick. A Victoriaville Pro 1000 model used while with the Capitals in the early-1980s, “Palmateer” is stamped on the upper shaft with the stick retaining its original tape on the blade and knob. The stick shows nice use, with a ton of puck marks on the taped section of blade, along with some cracking at the bottom of the heel.
