Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016

Exhibiting moderate to heavy handling and wear are the majority of cards in this shoebox-like stash, with however an intermittent crease-free VG-EX or EX card appearing along the way, but no Howes, Sawchuks, Beliveaus or Rocket Richards. A decent VG+ 46-Johnny Bower card is notable among close to three dozen 1958-59 Parkies, with an otherwise EX action card of Jacques Plante (#26) hampered by a wax stain on the reverse. The first numbered card from '59-60, (1-Canadiens on guard), is crease-free and VG-EX, with 23-Horton multi-creased and F. The #1-Horton card from '60-61 is similar, with Hall-of-Famers Olmstead, Duff, Stanley, Pulford, Delvecchio and Moore also creased and in low grade. Slightly better are (23) '61-62 cards, with 4-Olmstead, 8-Pulford, 16-Stanley and 25- Delvecchio making it to VG. A group of 38 cards from '62-63 include 18 with nasty scotch tape stains on the front, including 49-Plante, with 21-Ullman and 32-Delvecchio notable VG representatives. More rather rough stuff among 46 cards from '63-64, with creases affecting 16-Horton (P-F) and the rookie cards of 27-Laperriere, 40-Maniago and 85-Berenson. Upwards of 200 classic cardboard collectibles will provide the new owner with some relatively cheap entertainment.
