This lot includes 5 different attractive lithographs, featuring Frank Mahovlich, Maurice Richard, Johnny Bower, Bobby Baun, Eddie Shack, Stan Mikita and Bobby and Dennis Hull. 1) Douglas Laird lithograph entitled “The Rivalry”. At 14” x 18 ½”, a pair of youths square off amid a scenic background with one attired in a Leafs jersey, the other dapper in his Habs sweater. Frank Mahovlich has signed in pen at the bottom center, with the artist signing on the bottom right. Hand-numbered “C.E. 54/150” in the bottom left, the litho exhibits dings to all four corners. 2) RJ Vandermeer Frank Mahovlich lithograph. At approx. 19” x 25”, it features impressionistic images of The Big M in his Toronto, Detroit and Montreal uniforms. Created by artist RJ Vandermeer in 1989, one lithograph was created for each goal of Frank’s career which numbers 533. Each is normally numbered in the bottom left, along with the date, opponent, and venue of said goal. Mahovlich has signed in the lower left in pen, with the artist signing in the bottom right including his “A/P” (artist proof) and “54/58”. The litho remains in beautiful condition, with dings to all four corners. 3) S. Houston lithograph entitled “Saturday Night Hero”. At approx. 20” x 26”, the card stock litho features three youths in their favourite hero’s sweater, signed by said player. The youth pictured in a Habs #9 sweater has been signed by Maurice Richard, the youth in a Leafs #27 sweater has been signed by Frank Mahovlich, and the goalie in his Leafs #1 sweater has been signed by Johnny Bower. All signatures have been executed in blue sharpie, with the artist signing in the bottom right. In beautiful condition, there is a print line along the lower right side edge. 4) S. Houston lithograph entitled “The Gardens”. At roughly 21” x 28 ½”, Baun, Shack, Mikita and Johnny Bower are pictured in game-action, with each signing below his respective image in pencil. Hand-numbered 82/300 in the bottom left, the artist has signed on the bottom right with the litho remaining in gorgeous condition, with just a single touch to the upper right corner. 5) Susanna Blunt lithograph entitled “Oldtimers”. At approx. 22” x 27 ½”, vintage equipment is expertly depicted with cameos of Mahovlich, Shack and the Hull brothers. Each has signed beneath his image in pencil, with all signatures flawless. Numbered 94/275 in the bottom left, the litho remains in wonderful condition with just a few surface dents present.
