Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Any and all surviving items pertaining to legendary defenceman Eddie Shore are rare, and it’s no different with the offered program. At roughly 7” x 10”, the four page program printed on thin stock features a match-up between the Saskatoon Sheiks and Edmonton Eskimos of the WHL on December 12th 1925. The center spread features the line-ups, with Shore and Duke Keats for the Eskimos, and George Hainsworth and Bill Cook for the Sheiks. The program itself shows handling wear along with light creasing, edge tears and staining. The staples also exhibit heavy rusting, with a pair of holes along the left side from being previously stored in a binder. We’ve only handled a few Eskimos programs in the past, including those originating directly from Eddie Shore.
