Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
A goalie for Canada’s bronze medal 1956 Olympic hockey team, renowned sports photographer Denis Brodeur documented his son Martin’s development into one of the game’s greatest net minders. Offered here is this Sher-Wood goalie stick used by Martin during his minor hockey days which was originally from Denis’ personal collection. With the original tape on the blade and shaft/knob, there are also a few additional strands on the handle, just above the paddle. The full-size youth stick exhibits good use, with wear to the taped section of blade, along with a small chunk missing from the paddle near the heel. An LOA from Denis Brodeur will accompany.
