Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016

From three of their five World Series Championships, we have Pittsburgh Pirates programs for 1960 (2), 1971 (2) and 1979 (2). The 1960 Series would go seven games, and it’s well remembered for Bill Mazeroski’s ninth inning home run blast in Game 7 that won it for the Pirates. The ’71 Series would again go seven games, with Pirates superstar Roberto Clemente dominating and earning MVP honours. It would be Pittsburgh’s fourth World Series Championship. The 1979 World Series would go seven games yet again, this time with the Pirates rallying a comeback down 3 games to 1, for their fifth and final Fall Classic victory.
Included is a pair of programs for the 1960 World Series with examples for both Yankee Stadium and Forbes Field, with the Yankee Stadium example scored for Game 3. Next we have a pair of programs for the 1971 Series with both Memorial and Three Rivers Stadium examples, both unscored. Lastly, we also have a pair of programs for the 1979 World Series, with a Baltimore along with a national edition, both unscored. Each of the six offered programs remain in beautiful condition, with just the lightest handling wear present. The only notable issue is a very tiny edge tear to the back of the 1960 Yankee Stadium program. All programs range in size from 8 ¼” x 10 ¾” to 8 ¾” x 11 ¾”.
