Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Intriguing ensemble here has some eye appeal, led by Ken Dryden's in-action image on the top of a 1974-75 Topps display box, but is without the "unopened" appeal, since all packs were opened at some point. Cards (and gum!) were then neatly wrapped back up again to give the appearance of unopened packs. There are 24 packs from '74-75, housed in a box which advertises a scratch off game card in each, although a quick look through half a dozen packs reveals no such "extras" present and no notable rookie/star cards. The box top has a couple of piercings to mention and is almost totally detached. There are two loose packs of '79-80 Topps cards, with a Mike Bossy record breaker card the most notable, while 35 packs in an '80-81 Topps display box may wield some high grade value. The first two packs looked into reveal sharp ("unscratched") cards, with a Mike Gartner RC in one and a Michel Goulet rookie in the other. The team "pin-up" inserts are included, with the box itself intact and exhibiting moderate wear. O-Pee-Chee is represented by 32 re-sealed packs from 1983-84, along with a display box that is present but in rough shape, with all corners slit. Definitely several possibilities and some fun await the high bidder here.
