Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
All ready for your impressive Leafs shrine, the following lot of 11 items includes replica jerseys, goalie masks and equipment, along with a signed Felix Potvin jersey. Our consignor had a number of goalie displays, with equipment for each goalie that while not signature models, were produced around the same time frame as the featured goalie played. With that said, we have blocker and glove combos for Bower, Palmateer and Jacques Plante, along with a generic pair of pads. The two masks are street hockey style copies of examples used by Rhodes and Beaupre, with vintage sweaters for Conacher (#9), Apps (#10) and Johnny Bower (#1). There is also a copy of an earlier Bower mask, possibly made by Don Scott.
The signed Potvin jersey is a CCM example with MLG commemorative patch over the right breast. Felix has signed on the back “9” is blue sharpie, and the signature is gorgeous. A hologram from Frozen Pond has been affixed, with a COA attached to the tag in the collar. The “Bower” blocker and glove combo were produced by Spalding and D&R respectively, The “Plante” set was made by Cooper with adhered “1” decals on both, while the “Palmateer” set are G12 models, also produced by Cooper. The Bower mask is in excellent condition with strapping, and it has been made to look aged. The vintage-style Leafs sweaters were made by Ebbets Field Flannels and CCM, and they all remain in excellent condition. Lastly, the included goal pads remain in good condition, showing heavy use with most of the strapping intact.
