Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
A perennial Eastern European powerhouse, CSKA Moscow has completely dominated the Soviet Championships and European Cup. They have also handily defeated NHL clubs, with a record of 26-8-2. These three UCKA Moscow jerseys were worn by Igor Kravchuk, Igor Stelnov and Pavel Evstigneev. All in patriotic blue, white and red, we have tagging from Athletic Knit and Maska, along with a “Red Ace” logo on the bottom hem of the Stelnov jersey. Each features either screened-on rubberized logos and identifiers, or heavy vinyl-style letters and numbers that have been sewn on. This is a great chance to own three different style jerseys from the famous Red Army Hockey team.
The Kravchuk jersey is mesh with sewn-on vinyl-like letters with a rubberized name that was screened directly onto the garment. With a rubberized captain’s “K” as well, the jersey shows heavy use, with a number of dark marks on the lower front and team crest, along with some board burns and paint transfer on both sleeves. Worn in the late-1980s, Kravchuk has added a nice and large black marker signature to the back numbers. The Stelnov example is a heavier knit jersey from the 1980’s, with all identifiers and numbers rubberized. The jersey shows heavy wear along the lower portions of the sleeves with small holes from board burns, along with a larger hole on the upper left sleeve. There are also 4 repairs, with 2 on the front and a pair on the right sleeve. Lastly, the Evstigneev jersey has all logos and identifiers rubberized, including the name which has been screened directly onto the back without a nameplate. Just light use is exhibited with two large stick marks, one on the back and the other on the lower front.
