A mainstay with the Habs throughout the mid-1940s, Erwin “Murph” Chamberlain also had brief stops in Brooklyn and Boston, along with three years spent early in his career in Toronto. This silver-plated pitcher was awarded to Chamberlain as a member of the NHL Champion Montreal Canadiens in 1946-47. “Club De Hockey Canadien” is engraved on the front of the pitcher below the figural spout of a bearded man along with “Champions NHL 1946-1947” and “Erwin Chamberlain”. “S.P. Cooper” and “Sheffield Reproduction” for pattern/model are stamped on the underside of this 7 ½” highly decorated piece. The brim of the pitcher measures 4 1/4" in diameter, and it’s lost its circular continuity, along with a few other dents and dings present, but these do little to detract from the historic award’s display value.
