Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
The mid-1990s were a prosperous time for Detroit and Steve Yzerman, with the captain leading the team to three Stanley Cup Finals, including the first appearance of Lord Stanley’s mug in Motown in over forty years in 1997. This stick was used by Yzerman in this era. A Victoriaville APT 9050 model, “Yzerman 4-5” is stamped on the upper shaft. The stick retains its tape on the blade, along with gauze-style tape on the upper shaft/knob. There is also a handwritten notation along the lower portion of the shaft that reads “937-12”. Heavy game-use is exhibited with numerous puck marks present on the blade and shaft, along with wear to the taped section of blade.
